Dress Code for Classes
Adhering to our dress code helps ensure that all dancers can move safely and effectively while allowing instructors to assess form and technique better. Please review the specific attire required for each style of dance listed below. From leotards and tights for ballet to comfortable, loose clothing for hip-hop, make sure your dancer is prepared for every class. Dress Code for Girls
*hair should always be tied back properly for all classes and in a proper bun for ballet
Ballet
*hair should be in a proper bun
No crop tops in ballet please!
Whirl & Twirl Ballet & Jazz: Pink Body Suit, Pink Circle Skirt for ballet, black jazz shorts for jazz, pink tights and Pink. Ballet slippers for ballet, beige slip-on jazz shoes for jazz. Sweaters will be needed for the winter months.
Junior/Mini Ballet: Navy or Black body suit, Pink Tights, Split Sole Pink Ballet slipper. Wrap Skirts and Sweaters are permitted.
Pre-Teen/Intermediate Ballet: Any Appropriate Leotard (No Neon colors), Pink Tights, Split Sole Ballet slipper Canvas or leather.
Senior Ballet: Any appropriate Ballet Leotard (no neon colours) Pink Tights, Split Sole Ballet slippers in canvas or Leather. Wrap skirts and sweaters are permitted. Ballet tights are mandatory for health and safety reasons.
Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary & Musical Theatre
*hair should always be tied back properly
Mini - Senior: Body Suit (any Style), crop tops and bra tops are permitted as long as they are properly fit, jazz shorts or leggings, (tights not mandatory but suggested when wearing dance
shorts) split sole slip on tan jazz shoe for jazz and Musical Theatre class. Sophia Lucia Pirouettes for lyrical class.
Tap
*hair should always be tied back properly
Mini - Senior: Body Suit (any style) or crop top. Dance shorts or leggings, tights (footless or transition). Black Oxford-style leather tap show. All Senior Elite Team Tappers need Jason Samuel Tap shoes
Modern
*hair should always be tied back properly
Mini - Senior: Bare Feet, bodysuit any style, leggings or jazz shorts, footless or transition tights.
Hip Hop
*hair should always be tied back properly
Mini - Senior: Dancers should wear loose-fitting clothing that they can move in, Dancers are required to wear indoor running shoes (no white-soled running shoes please) Elite team dancers will be required to purchase the same shoe, this will be decided upon in September.
Acro
*hair should always be tied back properly
Mini - Senior: Body Suit, Dance Shorts, footless tights (Not mandatory) and bare feet only. French or Dutch braids are the easiest and safest way to have hair for acro. No skirts or loose-fitting clothing.
Dress Code for Boys
Students 11 years and older are to be wearing a dance belt
Ballet
Whirl & Twirl to Senior: Black Tights, bike shorts, or black dance pants & White T-shirt or Body Suit.
Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary & Musical Theatre
Mini - Senior: Dance Shorts, track pants or track pant shorts, T-shirt or tank top, beige split sole slip-on jazz shoes for jazz, Pirouettes for Lyrical & Contemporary, Men’s ballet slippers for ballet classes
Tap
Mini - Senior: Black dance pants or shorts of any style, T-shirt or tank top, Black Oxford lace up Tap shoe.
Modern
Mini - Senior: Dance Shorts, track pants or track pant shorts, T-shirt or tank top, bare feet.
Hip Hop
